The renovation was comprehensive, with a special focus on maintaining the original character of the property. A significant investment was made to make the house energy-efficient, starting with the replacement of the metal carpentry and the installation of SATE (thermal insulation) on the walls and ceilings. The flooring was equipped with underfloor heating powered by an aerothermal system and solar panels, making the house virtually self-sufficient and highly energy-efficient—perfect for its owners, who live there year-round.
Inside, the goal was to create a warm and relaxed home, perfectly in tune with its rural surroundings. A British touch was added, a feature still present in Menorca due to its recent history, which is reflected in the island’s traditional architecture.
Another key aspect of the renovation was opening up the spaces, allowing them to breathe and letting natural light flood the rooms, creating a tranquil and calming atmosphere. The garden was also an integral part of the project: the pool was relocated to a sunnier spot, and various flower beds with Mediterranean plants were created, requiring minimal irrigation and maintenance, providing a stunning display throughout the summer, spring, and part of the fall.
